The group originally began in January 2022 as a beginners/refreshers bridge group and now has 40 members.

For the fourth year running in the National u3a Charity Bridge Competition, one of our Bridge pairings has come top on our allocated competition day. The national u3a Charity Bridge Festival took place on the 27th of March 2025. This is a bridge competition, based on a playing format referred to as “simultaneous pairs”, wherein the players from many clubs - playing preset hands – have their play compared with each other on a round robin basis. Competition takes place over 5 days with different hands each day and the final positions are calculated on a national basis. This year, 78 pairs entered, and the winning pair were from our very own group
