Speaker: Mike Collier (Witney U3A member).

 Many of you will see Mike on the first and third Thursday of each month leading our Audio Visual Team and you may also be part of his Cotswold History Discovery Group. 

Mike says he will "come out' this week - out from behind that AV desk at the back of the Worship Hall! He has a private collection of over 1200 Witney postcards, most from the 1900s. His talk will explain how he first caught the collecting 'bug' in 2013 when he set out to try to dispose of an inheritance of over 100,000 cards of the UK and the rest of the world! Mike will also tell us a little about the hobby and how postcards first came into existence. 

He will bring his Witney collection with him, and members are invited to look through them after his talk has ended. Mike will also have some items for sale. 

I'm sure you will experience Mike's great joy in showing his Witney postcard collection. He has had the pleasure of doing so both at the Blanket Hall and twice at the Windrush Club as part of their 'Witney Memories' initiative in conjunction with the Valley Museum. 

This should be a fascinating insight into our local history so I do hope you can join us.
