In 2015 the group, as it was then, contributed to the Thirtieth Anniversary of Witney U3A by producing a book ‘Thirty Stories’*. The writers of those thirty stories all had one thing in common: they all wanted to write and express their thoughts on paper.

In the intervening years the membership has changed; some people have moved on to other things; some people have joined and left; others are, sadly, no longer with us. But the group continues to create and in 2022 we contributed stories to a book celebrating the u3a 40th anniversary’.

Today the group members are no different in their aspirations and continue to write for pleasure and try to stretch their imagination and to learn from each other.

Stories can be drawn from anywhere (from life, from the imagination) and the scope is limitless. You may hear a whisper that attracts your attention, a sound that brings back memories, or you may want to express a feeling, an experience or an event you were witness to. It doesn’t matter where the spark comes from-we all have stories to tell-it’s just a matter of picking up a pen or tapping on a keyboard and getting started.
